The 2026 midterms will determine who holds power in Congress. Efforts to suppress the democratic process – through laws, policies, executive orders, misinformation, and intimidation – are ongoing. Protect the Vote is designed to inform citizens about these threats, and to connect people with organizations that are working to ensure the midterms are protected.

Panel of Experts will Include:

  • Karen Jones (NAACP)
  • Karen Hult (VT Political Science)
  • Nicholas Goedert (VT Political Science)

The panel will speak to threats and other issues. Members of the audience will then have the opportunity to ask questions. Candidates running in the midterms are invited to attend and interact with citizens regarding these issues.

After the panel, all attendees are invited to connect with local and state organizations concerned about the midterms. Each organization will have materials to share and representatives who can discuss ways you can help protect the vote.

Join us at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Sunday, April 12, 2026, 2-4 pm.
