HB 1477 Implementing the national 988 system to enhance and expand behavioral
health crisis response and suicide prevention services:  The Health Care Authority (HCA)
must collaborate with the Department of Health (DOH) to establish state crisis call center hubs
and an enhanced crisis response system. A very complex bill involving multiple agencies to
develop new technologies, establish funding sources.
This bill had a public hearing in the Senate Committee on Behavioral Health Subcommittee on
March 19 and voted do pass on March 26. It’s scheduled for public hearing in the Senate
Committee on Ways & Means on April 5 at 10:00 AM.
