The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. League influences public policy through education and advocacy.
Why should you join?
Be part of the solution by contributing valuable service to the community and gaining knowledge and experience through study and discussion of important topics. Discover new interests, learn about crucial local issues, and make professional contacts and friendships with others who share your interests!
EVERYONE is welcome! Our members support a variety of important activities that benefit our communities:
- LWVSPA hosts candidate forums and programs on issues of importance to our communities. Nonpartisan education is our priority!
- Our members participate in meetings providing information, study, discussion and direction for action on important local, state, and national issues.
- LWVSPA is active in many city and county issues, including public school issues, eco-municipality communities, election administration, and voter registration activities.
- LWVSPA is a member of 2 Inter-League Organizations (ILOs) that strengthen our commitment to the region: LWV Upper Mississippi River Region ILO and LWV Lake Michigan Region ILO.
How much time does it take?
It's up to you! Many members choose to support the League with their annual dues. Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change. We cover a broad spectrum of issues and concerns; you may choose to become involved in one or more of them by actively participating in a group study, or listening to a panel of experts at a meeting or just reading about them in one of our publications.
Fill out the Stevens Point LWV Membership Form and mail it with your membership dues to the address on the form. Dues are collected annually; contact Andrea Musch (Membership Coordinator) if you have any questions (amusc480 [at] gmail.com).
If you’re not interested in joining right now, you can always make a valuable donation!
