What is a Position?

The League of Women Voters takes action on an issue only when we have a position addressing that particular issue. Members must study and come to consensus on an issue, in order to form a position. This thorough grassroots process ensures that our advocacy is well considered by a broad range of people, understood by our members, and we have a sense of the political environment.

Position

The LWVSPA recognizes “eco-municipalities” as communities that work towards economic, social and ecological sustainability and supports the Guiding Objectives and Conditions for Sustainability (adapted from The Natural Steps for Communities by Sarah James and Torbjorn Lahti.)

Position

We believe all electors in the school district should have an equal opportunity to run for school board positions and seats should be divided as equally as possible between city and outlying areas on the basis of population.

Position

The Portage County Public Library (PCPL) has become an integral part of the community, having developed the provision of many necessary services.
