A number of LWVDV and LWV Berkeley/Albany/Emeryville members are part of the LWV California Healthcare Interest Group.  This group is open to any LWV member and meets monthly to discuss ways of educating LWV members and the broader public and advocate for good legislation about a growing number of issues. Among these issues are the need to expand primary care and mental and behavioral health care access and decrease cost; the fact that gun use in the U.S. is a public health crisis; and the inherent inequities and unsustainable cost of healthcare.

At the recent LWV California State Convention, the Healthcare Interest Group held a caucus.  This is the handout given out there, which contains links to a number of excellent resources:
