Committees from Diablo Valley

League members take action on issues where we have studied the topic and have reached conclusions that are embodied in our positions. Our Action/Advocacy Committee meets monthly (see Calendar of Events). Recent activities have included advocacy for affordable housing proposals in several cities, support of extending the county healthcare plan to undocumented immigrants, and statements on the Concord Naval Weapons Station re-use plans. We have been advocating for an Independent Redistricting Commission in Martinez.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley (LWVDV). The individuals who sit on the board are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities and direct the work necessary to carry out our mission.

Board members are nominated by the Nominating Committee and then voted into office at the Annual Meeting. Board members serve approximately 2 year terms.

See below for Board meetings, events, news and monthly President's letters.

LWV Observer programs ensure that citizens are aware of the decisions that impact their communities and promote government transparency and accountability.

The Voter Services team works to strengthen democracy and empower citizens through voter education, voter registration, and voter mobilization. Our goal is to provide fair, nonpartisan, factual information about elections, ballot issues, candidate opinions, the voting process, and public policy issues.
