Hello LWVDV Members!

This is Janet Hoy your PM - or President of the Month - for February and March. 

• February 12th 10:00am- General Membership Meeting to focus on Program Planning for the 2022-2023 League year. This is your opportunity to weigh in on what you think the League should focus on, providing critical input to identify our education and advocacy priorities. Please Save the Date so your voice and opinions can be part of the conversation.  We will also have a brief business meeting to revise our Articles of Incorporation.
• Legislative Interviews are happening NOW.  action-advocacy [at] lwvdv.org (subject: Legislative%20Interviews) (Please sign up) to be a part of these engaging conversations. No need to have a “speaking part” -  these will be virtual meetings with our local elected officials, and you are welcome to come and observe the process. 
• April 5, 2022 Special Primary Election- Assembly District 11. District 11 includes parts of Contra Costa, Solano and Sacramento Counties. This is a special primary to fill the Assembly seat vacated by Jim Frazier in December 2021.
• We are gearing up for Candidate Forums for the Primary and General Elections. Rossmoor Democratic and Republican Clubs are hosting a law enforcement-focused forum with the District Attorney and Sheriff candidates. The League will be moderating.  Additional forums are in the works. Please contact Martha Goralka at voter.services [at] lwvdv.org  for details and training. These events are FUN and provide valuable opportunities for local voters to connect with and learn about the candidates. More details to follow!

That’s it for now. As you can tell we are focused on the upcoming elections - the Special Election, the primary and the general election -  to make sure we fulfill our goal of Making Democracy Work for our local voters. There are many ways to engage throughout this election year. We look forward to working with you!
