League Leaders and Members:

August has been a busy month for LWVDV. As Monthly President (MP), I led our monthly Board Meeting on August 12. We also had our annual Board Orientation on August 14, with a presentation by Lianne Campodonico, a longtime state and local League leader. We had a chance to discuss our new leadership model as well.

On our plate right now is the California Governor Recall Election. LWVC, the state League, has developed information that the LWVDV is using to educate voters on this important election. Please return your ballot or vote in person by September 14!
 
Redistricting is the next big project. The federal government released the 2020 Census Data and the state government is now doing the analysis and the final data to be used will be released in September.

Opportunities to get involved in redistricting at the local level include monitoring school districts, town/city councils, and the Board of Supervisors. Contra Costa County has a dedicated website for redistricting information: About Redistricting | Contra Costa County, CA Official Website
