The Senate failed to pass the Women’s Health and Protection Act to codify a patient's right to receive abortion services without burdensome restrictions or requirements. The League of Women Voters of the United States President Dr. Deborah Ann Turner and CEO Virginia Kase Solomón issued this statement after the (49-51) Senate vote.

On May 3 the League of Women Voters of the United States president Dr. Deborah Turner and CEO Virginia Kase Solomón issued the a joint statement in response to the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

On Tuesday, May 5, the League's national organizing director, Alma Couverthie, spoke on the steps of the Supreme Court regarding the leaked draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health that would overturn the reproductive rights established in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. 
"The League of Women Voters stands with all of our partners and allies in this fight, and we will continue for as long as it takes."

In March of 2018, the Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit challenging the fifteen-week abortion ban that was passed by the Mississippi state legislature. The League filed an amicus brief in support.
