During the last week of January and the first week of February, LWVDV linked arms with the County Elections Office for its “So You Want to Run for Office” program.  The program was designed to inform members of the community about the nuts and bolts of what one needs to do to become a candidate for office. LWVDV was invited to give a presentation about Voter’s Edge.

In an effort to establish a regular monthly presence in the County, with a special focus on underserved communities, LWVDV partners with the County Elections Office to inform, educate, and register residents of those communities.

On February 23, LWVDV was again partnering with the County Office of Elections to do outreach with its super-duper trailer. The goals: to register voters in Antioch (which, by the way, just celebrated its sesquicentennial on February 6th); help individuals to verify their registration status; answer questions; and share about Voter’s Edge.  This is a low-key opportunity to do a bit of chatting with people, and help them to register and learn about good sources of information such as Voter’s Edge.

LWVDV Voter Services is also collaborating with the County Elections Department to learn from other county agencies how previously incarcerated individuals are being presented with opportunities to become registered voters as they are transitioning to re-entering society.
