NewsThe LWV Diablo Valley members have had two very busy months serving new and seasoned voters all around the county - from San Ramon, Orinda, and Martinez, to Pittsburg, Antioch, Brentwood, and Oakley. A key goal for this election cycle was to distribute the League’s work more evenly across the county. With the many hours that League volunteers committed to the election this year, we are proud to say that we succeeded!

THANK YOU to all our Leaguers for making this an amazingly positive election cycle!
One note of disappointment:
As we all know, the Antioch community has been going through a lot of upsetting issues. Genesis Church and the NAACP reached out to the League to partner with them for an Antioch City Mayor Candidate Forum. The forum was set to go on October 25th even though one of the three candidates was most likely not going to be able to attend due to a schedule conflict. The evening before the forum, a second candidate decided not to participate, thus leaving just one candidate, forcing cancellation of the event. For voters in the Antioch community, many of whom had planned to be at the forum and had delayed casting their ballot until hearing from the candidates, this was truly a disappointment.
