Board Briefs for August 2026

• Established an Investment Committee of Anna Honda, Bill Speir, Paul Derksen, and Kathy Erickson.
• Accepted the resignation of Allison Picard from the Board to run for elective office.

• Enjoyed a report on the successful Day of Action event on August 9th in Walnut Creek.
• Reviewed information presented to the Action-Advocacy Committee on Proposition 45 and discussed a possible recommendation to LWVC to oppose the measure.
• Received updates on upcoming candidate forums and moderator training, and plans for membership tables at Voter Services events.
• Heard updates on immigration activities, including the proposed county non-cooperation ordinance.
• Discussed the activities of the Youth Engagement Committee, including GOTV and Pros & Cons projects.
• Noted that the LWVC Convention will be held in Anaheim on June 25-26, 2027.

This is the regular monthly meeting of the LWV Diablo Valley Board. Agenda items may include financial reports, advocacy decisions and updates, voter service activity plans and information, program planning for future studies and meetings, and membership update.

All League meetings are open to the public.
