Board Briefs for January 2025
At its meeting on January 9, the Board took the following actions:
- Approved giving a LWV membership to former intern McKenna Ingram.
- Approved a letter to federal elected officials regarding inadequate signage at the Concord Immigration Court.
The Board also:
- Discussed arrangements for the February 8th Program Planning meeting.
- Received a draft Investment Policy for the Lee Lawrence bequest to review for the February Board meeting.
- Named Shawn Gilbert to lead the committee for the LWVUS study of the Federal Judiciary. Ana Pan will also be on the committee.
- Learned that members have been volunteering for Legislative Interviews and spots are still available.
- Agreed to continue partnering with St. Mary’s College, and discussed a future joint LWVDV/SMC event with our December speaker, Dr. Amar.
- Heard that Paul Derksen would be meeting with Mike Miller, advisor to the County Elections Department, as part of our Mis/Disinformation work.

This is the regular monthly meeting of the LWV Diablo Valley Board. Agenda items may include financial reports, advocacy decisions and updates, voter service activity plans and information, program planning for future studies and meetings, and membership update.
All League meetings are open to the public.
