On March 22, 2024, our Democracy Matters program led by Alice Fried worked with Vallejo city government officials to provide a very successful, hands-on Mock City Council event for ARC-Solano and Mare Island Technology Academy students.
On June 17, 2021, President Joe Biden officially recognized Juneteenth (June 19th) as a national holiday although it has been celebrated in Black communities since the late 1800s.
