The League of Women Voters of Connecticut (LWVCT) along with Connecticut Public (CT Public) presents a weekly series of political debates between the key candidates in advance of the midterm November 2022 elections, including debates for the statewide offices of Governor and Secretary of the State, as well as U.S. Senate and Connecticut’s five U.S. Congressional districts.

Tune in for the first live debate in this series featuring the candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives from the 2nd Congressional District.

Meet the Candidates: A Greater Hartford forum for Federal, State and Local Candidates. An event where you, the voter, can find out more about candidates for elected office in Hartford and the surrounding communities.

Photographer, film producer and social justice activist Phil Portlock invites you to a virtual film viewing of his powerful and enlightening 25-minute film, “VOTING RIGHTS: THE STRUGGLE TO BE COUNTED”. With the creative use of music, powerful images and narration by his wife Pat Sloan, the film traces the long and often brutal struggle by African Americans to gain and maintain the unrestricted right to be counted at the ballot box. This program will be repeated every Sunday at 7:00 pm Eastern time through November 6, 2022.

This year on National Voter Registration Day, the League of Women Voters of Connecticut invites you to the Connecticut Capitol to get registered to vote and celebrate the women of color in the fight for voting rights both in the 19th century and today. Join us for a special plaque unveiling ceremony honoring these women and view the traveling exhibit - "The Work Must Be Done: Women of Color and Voting Rights".
