The following announcement was released to the press on September 27, 2022:

League of Women Voters Candidates Forum
Delaware State Representative Districts 25, 26, and 27
Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 7-9 pm
Newark Senior Center
200 White Chapel Drive, Newark, 19713; 302-737-2336.

The public is invited to attend a Candidates Forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New Castle County and the Newark Senior Center for candidates for Delaware State Representative Districts 25, 26, and 27. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Evergreen Room of the Newark Senior Center, 200 White Chapel Drive, Newark, 19713.

Candidates invited are:
    • District 25 -- Cyndie Romer (D) and Lynn Mey (R)
    • District 26 -- Timothy Conrad (R) and Madinah Wilson-Anton (D)
    • District 27 -- Eric Morrison (D) and John Marino (R)

Members of the audience will be given index cards at the entry door and throughout the program, on which to write questions for the moderator to pose to the candidates. The League of Women Voters of New Castle County will moderate and staff the forum. Candidates must have qualified to appear on the Delaware general election ballot in order to participate.

In keeping with federal regulations governing non-partisan pre-election debates, at least two candidates for a particular office must be present in order for a candidate for that office to participate in the program. There will be an informal "Meet and Greet" with candidates following the program.

Two additional forums are planned: Candidates for Delaware State Senate Disricts 8 and 9, Tuesday Oct. 18, 7:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Newark -- Memorial Hall, 292 W. Main Street, Newark, 19711; and Delaware State Senate Districts 4 and 7, Tuesday Oct. 25, 7:00 pm, at Hockession Public Library, Swift Park, 1023 Valley Road, Hockessin, DE 19707.

Forums afford voters a unique opportunity to voice their concerns and to learn candidates' positions on issues. The program is free and open to the public.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. We do not support or oppose any political party or candidate. Non-partisanship does not mean that the League does not take positions on issues. The League of Women Voters has taken positions on issues, after member agreement, since the organization was formed in 1920.   ###
