HOUSING AND RACISM PART II

The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice, in partnership with the New Castle County League of Women Voters, will hold its monthly Town Hall on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.

"Part 1," the November Town Hall, focused on the history of racism in the housing industry and the impacts that substandard housing has on communities of color. The second part of our on-going conversation will examine impediments to creating and obtaining affordable housing and what we can do individually and collectively to ensure that everyone has access to safe, sustainable housing.

A panel of subject-area experts will include...
    • Moderator Melody Taylor, Regional Director, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity.
    • Katie Millard, Director of Development and Advocacy, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity;
    • Sara Pratt, Attorney with Relman and Colfax  and former U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing Enforcement and Programs; and
    • Sarah Watson, Associate Counsel for the Fair Housing and Community Development Project-Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights.

Everyone is invited to attend this informative event.
