Representative Paul Baumbach will speak on proposed end-of-life options legislation in Delaware. The League of Women Voters of Delaware is considering a concurrence position with LWV Utah on this topic so that we can advocate for local legislation. $15 buffet lunch; the public is cordially invited to attend.
Representative Paul S. Baumbach grew up in Bel Air, MD. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware, and his Master of Science from Villanova University. While attending the University of Delaware, he met his wife Pamela. They have been married since 1985 and live in Newark, DE. Their son Michael and daughter-in-law Jacquie also live close by in Newark, DE. Paul founded a financial advisory firm in Newark in 1996. He served for 2 years on the Newark Housing Authority Board, and for 2 years as president of Progressive Democrats for Delaware. Paul’s current occupation is Director of Investments for Mallard Financial Partners, Inc.
The LWV of Delaware does not have a position in support or opposition to this issue, however will be considering the LWV Utah position at the LWVDE convention in June. The health care position of the LWVUS under which most of our health care advocacy is taken does not address the provisions of this proposed bill so LWVDE will neither support or oppose it, but members, speaking for themselves, may wish to contact their Representatives and Senators to express their support or opposition.
The public is invited to all Hot Topic meetings to become informed on a wide variety of topics. It is also a time to check in with members of The League of Women Voters, make new friends, and invite your neighbors and colleagues to experience the League in an informal setting.
