The LWVNCC candidate forums committee is endeavoring to provide forums for contested General Assembly seats in the Nov 8, 2022 general election. The first confirmed forum is for State Representative District 25 at the Newark Senior Center on Tuesday, October 11 at 7pm. District 25 candidates are Cyndie Romer (Democrat) and Lynn Mey (Republican).

There will be an informal “Meet and Greet” with all candidates present following the program. We anticipate that some other candidates to represent residents of the Newark area may be present and stay for the meet and greet segment.

Future Forum(s)

In addition, there is a scheduled forum on Tuesday October 25 at 7pm for the candidates for State Senate District 4, at the Hockessin Library. Senate District 4 candidates are Ted Kittila (R) and Laura Sturgeon (D).

Audience Interaction

At each event, the audience will be given 4 x 6” cards on which to write questions. Following the candidates’ introductory remarks, there will be a Q&A period during which the moderator will read questions from the audience. Each candidate will have an opportunity to respond to each question.

The forums are open to the public. There will be an informal “Meet and Greet” with candidates following the program.

Audience members must refrain from photographing, recording or streaming any portion of the event. LWVNCC will provide an authorized video recording of the event in its entirely, posted on Facebook and on our website a day or two after the forum concludes.
