Hot Topic: Housing in Delaware

Shyanne Miller of the H.O.M.E.S. Campaign organizes and engages local communities across the state, including Kent and Sussex Counties, to understand and advocate for the local and statewide policy solutions needed to realize housing as a human right in Delaware. The H.O.M.E.S Campaign is made up of local residents, unhoused community members, educators, and advocates working to develop a housing policy agenda that is focused on:

    • Creating high quality affordable renter-ship opportunities;
    • Creating fair opportunities for home ownership;
    • Ending homelessness; and
    • Ensuring accessible housing options for returning residents.
The H.O.M.E.S. Campaign uses community organizing and policy advocacy to advance equitable housing policy. The campaign shares statewide policy recommendations that can strengthen tenant protections and protections for people experiencing homelessness.
