April Topic - “Can A Divided America Heal?”

The TED Talk for April is a continuation of the March discussion. It is not necessary to have participated in the March discussion to participate in the April talk. The second part of the discussion will focus on: Can A Divided America Heal? In this presentation, social psychologist, Jonathan Haidt, through conversation with TED Curator Chris Anderson, will describe the “patterns of thinking and historical causes that have led to such sharp divisions in America”. This TED Talk was recorded in 2016 but is found to be even more relevant today. The encouraging part is that Mr. Haidt shares his vision for how we as a country can heal from all the divisiveness.

As a social psychologist, Jonathan Haidt focuses his studies on the morals that form the foundation of individual political choices. At present he is affiliated with the New York University Stern School of business in addition to writing for the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
