April Topic - Jonathon Haidt on "The Moral Roots of Liberals and Conservatives"

There is a lot happening not only in our communities but around the world. At times it may seem hard to understand what some folks are thinking. It does not make sense to us. Jonathon Haidt studies the how and why we have evolved to be the moral and political people we are today. Mr. Haidt shares some of his findings in his TED Talk titled: “The Moral Roots of Liberals and Conservatives.” He links the morals and political positions to the five moral values that form our political choices, and life choices for that matter. In his eye-opening presentation, Mr. Haidt, pinpoints the moral values that liberals and conservatives tend to honor most, leading to better understanding on both sides of “how can they think that way.”

Jonathon Haidt portrait from TED Speaker profile pageJonathan Haidt is a social psychologist whose research focuses on morality across cultures. Mr. Haidt has authored articles for the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He has been named as one of the top global thinkers by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazines.
