May Topic - U.S. Politics

The May TED talk was chosen to create a buzz. At first it would appear as if presenter, Katherine M. Gehl, is itching for a fight in her presentation, “US Politics Isn’t Broken. It’s Fixed.” However, it quickly becomes clear how her viewpoint aligns with the League of Women Voters new thinking on voting.

Katherine Gehl may seem to be an unlikely authority on whether US politics is broken, as a business leader, (former CEO of Gehl Foods) she had an epiphany as to why competition in politics does not deliver innovation, results, and accountability. With this new insight she sold her company so that she could focus on political innovation, positioning herself as a new thought leader in the world of US politics.

Join us for what is hoped to be a sparky discussion on whether US politics is broken (or maybe not), on May 15, 2021 at 10 am.
