Update 4/14/2019:
The New Castle Weekly reported the following election results on 4/13/2019: "Mike Quaranta is mayor, Valarie Leary and Suzanne Souder have the four-year council terms, and Russ Smith has the two-year term."
Mide Quaranta defeated Jim Whisman, 506 votes to 412... a difference of 94 votes.
From a field of seven candidates, the highest voter-earners for city council were Souder at 474 votes, Leary 440, and Smith 425.

An election will be held for the City of New Castle on April 13, 2019 for the following offices:

City residents 18 years or older, who have lived in the City of New Castle for at least 30 days, and have registered to vote 5 days prior to the election are eligible to vote in this election.
Absentee ballots are available from the Absentee Ballot Clerk, Diane Delgado at 322-9804, or in person at 220 Delaware Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m from February 27th through April 12th at 12 noon.
