Unofficial election results posted by the Town of Townsend on 5/2/2021 show Gerald Dove with 53 votes, Eschalla Carke with 46 votes, and Joshua Mertz with 43 votes, barely beating out Scott Lobdell with 41 votes.

2021 Town Election for Townsend, Delaware

The Town of Townsend will be having its Town Council Election on May 1, 2021.  There are three (3) Council seats open, and four (4) candidates have filed to run. 

Residents within town limits are eligible to vote if they are at least 18 years old on election day, have lived in Townsend for 30 days prior to the election, and have registered to vote with the State of Delaware by April 17th, 2021.

Absentee ballots are available upon request by contacting Town Hall at 302-378-8082 or townhall [at] townsend.delaware.gov, or by completing and returning the Absentee Ballot Application - Town of Townsend found online.

Townsend council members serve two-year terms. The council has five members, and after each annual election selects one of their members to serve as town Mayor for one year.
