The League of Women Voters of Florida (LWVFL) and Alachua County (LWVAC) worked tirelessly to get Amendment 4 (limiting government interference with abortion) on the November ballot. Now the task is to ensure that it passes with the 60% required.
If you have noticed the opposition signs and advertising, then you can appreciate the need to get our message out to all voters - Independents, Republicans, Democrats, young people, older people, religious and secular voters, and more.
That takes money, and that’s what motivated LWVAC members Shayna Rich, Alison Keel, and Candy Birch, along with Candi Churchill and J. Maggio, to host a YES ON 4 fundraiser on Oct 15.
Along with great food and drink, the 20+ attendees were treated to discussion by Lance Gravlee from Elevated Access and Brice Barnes from Floridians Protecting Freedom about the status of abortion access in Florida.
