This League at the Library event will take place on 3/16 from 12-2 pm at the Hawthorne Branch Library and will be an indoor event. We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to man the table.

During LWVAC's 2024 Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Campaign for the 2024 Election Season, the Voter Services team is organizing multiple Alachua County Library tabling events. The goal is to have a table at each of the 12 libraries once a month for 2 hours at peak times until November. We hope to increase League visibility and engage with current and potential voters, especially young people.

At this Oak Hammock Committee Meeting, Sue Legg, former LWVFL chair for education, will  discuss, "How Much Choice is Too Much?" Are we "first in education freedom" as Gov DeSantis claims? What does that mean? What's the cost?

Our Health Care Committee, co-chaired by Barbara Frentzen and Kim Walsh-Childers, is hosting its next meeting in person at Oak Hammock. 

Karen Miller has invited the CEO of Elder Options and a SHINE member to speak.
