All LWVAC members are cordially invited to our LWVAC Member Fall Luncheon. We are very excited to bring back this in-person event after a three-year hiatus. Please join us on Thursday, October 26th at 11:30 a.m., at the Best Western Grand in Gainesville, FL.
Dr. Monica Elliot, LWVFL Secretary and Voter Services Chair and LWV of Broward County Co-President and Voter Service Chair, is our featured speaker.
Her topic will be: "What Is Coming in the 2024 Legislative Session".
Dr. Monica Elliott is an Emeritus Professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Florida. She obtained a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Montana State University and a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University. She was a faculty member for 30 years with the University of Florida with research, extension, and administrative appointments at the IFAS Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center.
After her retirement in 2018, she joined the League of Women Voters of Broward County and is currently Co-President and Voter Services chair of this organization. She also serves as Secretary and Voter Services chair for the LWVFL. She is passionate about the importance of voting to our society and believes the right to vote and the ability to vote should never be taken for granted.
We are grateful Dr. Elliott is willing to share her knowledge and insights with us and look forward to her presentation. Please join us on Thursday, October 26th at 11:30 AM for an informative presentation with good food and in-person camaraderie.
