About Membership
You, along with our nearly 300 Alachua County League members can make our electoral system better by: engaging voters and protecting their right to vote, educating the citizenry on important issues, learning about how our government works and making it work better.
You can participate in our working committees, attend events, organize forums on current issues, coordinate candidate forums, lobby on behalf of LWV issues, and receive The Voter, our newsletter.

Add your voice to the LWV and become a member! Membership dues are critical to supporting the LWV's work at the local, state and national levels.
Membership Rates
The LWV has various membership levels. Member dues support the local LWV Chapter (Alachua County/ Gainesville), the State of Florida LWV Chapter, and the National LWV of the United States.
- Individual - $57
- Student - FREE
- Household - $86 (two members at the same address)
- Susan B Anthony - $107 ($57 membership + $50 contribution)
- Household with one Susan B. Anthony membership - $136 ($86 membership + $50 contribution)
- Household with two Susan B. Anthony memberships - $186 ($86 membership + $100 contribution)
Why Are There Dues?
Your dues support the local, state, and national chapters of the LWV (respectively - LWV of Alachua County/Gainesville, LWV of Florida and LWV of the United States). The Local dues support educational programs of local issues, candidate forums, and voter outreach. The State dues support the state education and advocacy programs, state voter guides, a part-time executive director and a part-time lobbyist. The National dues support the national education and advocacy programs, an executive director and staff in our D.C. office. That's alot of education and advocacy for your dues!

Donate
Your dues support not only the local league activities, they also help defray staff costs and outreach activities at the state and national offices. Locally, we retain about $5 of the dues you pay, so donations are most helpful to support our interns, forum expenses, Voter Guides, and webpage, etc.
