LWV Lewis Clark Valley
The League of Women Voters serves the Lewis Clark Valley including the communities of Lewiston, Idaho, and Clarkston, Washington.
Mission Statement:
The League of Women Voters encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Our mission is to empower voters and defend democracy.
- The purposes of the LWV are to promote responsibilities through informed and active participation in government and to act on selected governmental issues.
- The League neither supports nor opposes candidates or political parties.
The League of Women Voters of the Lewis Clark Valley (LWVLCValley) have studied and adopted a position in support of the Council-Manager Plan of Government for Lewiston, Idaho. Adopted in August 1977, updated and readopted annually.
The League also has positions on Land Use Planning and Zoning in Lewiston; Charter of Independent School District #1 AKA Lewiston School District #1; Solid Waste; and Library. Our positions are studied and adopted by our members, which give a voice to public policy issues affecting our community.
We advocate for public policies that have been studied and adopted by members. The League is a trusted nonpartisan political organization that adheres to the standards in our mission statement.
