Program & Positions

The League takes action only on issues for which we have positions, developed through study and member consensus. These positions guide both our public education and our advocacy work.

The League’s program priorities for 2025–2026 are informed by established positions and member input. LWVCC continues to support the national program, Making Democracy Work, with the following areas of focus:

  • Providing voter information and voter registration
  • Encouraging and facilitating voter engagement in local and state elections
  • Providing opportunities for education and discussion on topics critical to Town planning and decision-making
  • Supporting the new Town Land Use Working Group, which is developing the Town Land Use Matrix
  • Continuing our focus on the Concord School Committee and the Regional School System
  • Building support for LWVCC’s new non-profit Education Fund, including but not limited to supporting a new Civics Education effort at Concord Carlisle High School
  • Continuing the work of our committees including education on: Expansion at Hanscom, Housing Issues, DEIB, Environment (particular focus on PFAS, electric buses, and artificial turf), immigration, Town and School budgets, childcare, and transportation.
