Program & Positions

The League takes action only on issues for which we have positions, developed through study and member consensus. These positions guide both our public education and our advocacy work.

Local Program for 2026-2027

The League’s program priorities for 2026–2027 are informed by established positions and member input. This year, LWVCC joins LWV US in its national program: Democracy Under Siege.

  • Provide voter information and voter registration opportunities, voter education for local and state elections. Support election activities by organizing and encouraging members to volunteer as poll workers and as support to the Town Clerk’s administrative work in processing ballots.
  • Provide opportunities for community education and discussion on topics critical to town planning and decision-making
  • Educate the community on Concord’s Town Land Use & Re-Use activities, including the plans for land, housing, municipal and school facilities, and the environment
  • Implement an Observer Corps for the Concord School Committee and the Regional School System, including careful review of budgets

We will also continue the education and collaboration work done by our committees in the areas of:

  • Housing affordability, diversity, and availability
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), including Concord’s DEI Commission and the Social Justice Roundtable
  • Coalitions on environmental issues, including Hanscom private jet expansion
  • Immigration as it impacts our community
  • Local transportation
