Efforts by the Billings Public Works Department to create a backup supply to our city drinking water system has been approved by the Billings City Council.  In 2019, the city will purchase land and create a design for a six-month supply of drinking water at a reservoir on the west end of the city. Our current storage for the city would be depleted in 10 hours if a problem occurs: such as summer droughts, ice dams or contamination. 

 Mr. Dave Mumford, Director of Public Works, will talk about this big change coming to the city and how the public can influence decisions about the design of this massive project, the potential recreational activities connected to our trail system and energy cost savings to consumers.
