The League of Women Voters has long recognized that the quality of voters’ civic education is fundamental to the success of American democracy. For many of us, that civic education first took root in classrooms where we learned the underlying principles of good government as well as our rights and responsibilities as citizens. Yet, in recent years, Americans’ civic knowledge seems to be in decline, and some recent surveys point specifically to a concerningly low level of civic literacy among young people.

The League of Women Voters is pleased to announce that the eight candidates running for Pennridge School Board, representing both political parties, have agreed to appear in public and take questions. The forum is scheduled for September 30th from 7-9 pm at Pennridge North Middle School and will be moderated by the League of Women Voters.
