Did you know that 100 years ago, holding a tea party could be subversive?

 

Join with us to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote AND of the launch of the League of Women Voters.

 

We are hosting our own Equalitea, a sometimes subversive way for suffragists to come together to strategize how to achieve their political aims while creating a community of women activists. Not so different from today. 

 

They were finally successful, as we will discuss at the tea. Today, moving forward, our topics are a bit different:  getting more women involved in political life, working towards full legal equality.

 

Hear from League members, be entertained by East Bay's Strange Ladies drama group, learn about the serving of a formal tea, and network with our like-minded community.
