Our Mission: The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan, issues-oriented political organization of women and men of all ages and backgrounds. The League encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government. Formed in 1920 when women first won the right to vote, the LWV is dedicated to the principles of democratic government supported by a well-informed citizenry. The League works to increase understanding of issues, and influence public policy, through education and advocacy at the local, state and national level.
