October is here! The past two months as Monthly President were rewarding. The Board and Leadership team has been supportive and helpful. I learned a lot -- including about levels of LWV and how they function.  

The team of Melanie Speir, Anne Granlund, and Peggy Huston will serve as Monthly President for October and November. I look forward to the new ideas and strategies they will share.

Redistricting is now in full swing. California released the data to be used at the local level. There are many resources available if you would like to get involved. Redistricting is taking place at the county, city or town, school board, and special district level where members are elected by districts, and not by at-large elections. 

Contra Costa County has a dedicated website Redistricting | Contra Costa County, CA Official Website. There are public meetings and workshops throughout October with information on the process and how to participate.
