September Topic: "A Future with Fewer Cars"

The United States and other supporting countries have put together some aggressive goals for 2035 to address climate. A part of this aggressive position depends on the future of cars. For October, there will be two TED Talks up for discussion. The first talk, A Future with Fewer Cars, by Freeman H. Shen, proposes that artificial intelligent electric cars will be able to solve many of the problems currently created with our existing fossil fueled cars. Mr. Shen believes that AI electric cars will reduce or eliminate smog, traffic congestion, and accidents. The second talk, What’s the Best Fuel for Your Car, was created by TED ED. This animated presentation explores other liquid fuels as well as electricity. This presentation will ‘dig’ into whether gasoline, electric, biofuels, or electro fuels are the best option that is both affordable for consumers in addition to being sustainable for our planet.
