It has come to the attention of the League of Women Voters of Delaware County that 708 county voters received mail-in ballots at their addresses for the wrong voters (see names and addresses on voting materials).

That also means that those 708 voters who applied for mail-in or absentee ballots did not receive them because they were sent to another address.

You will know if you received the wrong ballot because it will have another voter’s name on it but will have been sent to your address.

The county has identified these ballots and sent new, corrected ballots, which you should receive by Monday or Tuesday.  If you receive a new ballot, fill it out and drop it in one of the 49 drop boxes around the county or you can take it to the Voter Service Center by 8 p.m. Election day,

Time is of the essence. If you did not receive a new corrected ballot or if you have a ballot sent to your address in the name of another voter, you can do this:  

1. Take the misaddressed ballot materials (all of them) to the Voter Service Center in the Government Center in Media (behind the courthouse) and obtain a replacement ballot.  You can go ahead and vote the replacement ballot on site and turn it in.  The center will be open on Monday Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Election Day, Nov. 2 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
2. Take the misaddressed ballot materials (all of them) to the polls on Tuesday and surrender them to the poll workers. You can then vote there.
3. If you requested but did not receive a mail-in or absentee ballot or did not return it for whatever reason, go to the polling and inform your poll worker.  You may be listed in the poll book as having received a mail-in ballot and in that case you can still vote provisionally.
