Join LWVNCC with First & Central Presbyterian Church on January 7th

A March for Justice, Peace and Voting Rights

The Wilmington churches' monthly demonstration walk in Jan 2022 focuses on voting rights. LWV members are encouraged to participate. In this unprecedented time when states are passing laws restricting voting access, the United States Senate must act to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting rights Advancement Act. We urge Senators Coons and Carper to do whatever it takes to deliver these bills to the American people. We also urge our state leaders to support HB75 to remove unecessary voting restrictions in Delaware.

Meet at First & Central Presbyterian Church, 1011 N. Market St. The walk starts at 5:30 PM – Parking is on the street or you can type 1141 North Orange Street, Wilmington, DE into your GPS and use the Wilmington Club parking lot to your right. We will gather on the front steps of the church on the Market Street side of the building.

Registration is not required, but if you do register, we can notify you if the event changes due to weather or other unforeseen complications. The registration form also will facilitate carpooling for those who wish to share a ride on January 7.

Our host, First & Central Presbyterian Church, wishes to remind us that the First Friday marches are silent and respectful. The church is asking that we not carry signs, other than signs identifying the organization that you are representing on the march, if applicable.

So, no slogan signs and no chanting. Please respect their wishes. The church is very happy for us to join them and are looking forward to our participation in celebrating Justice, Peace and Voting Rights.
