Update 10/1/22 - the LWVNCC Oct 18th candidate forum for Senate Districts 8 and 9 will not be held due to candidates' scheduling conflicts.

The LWVNCC candidate forums committee has scheduled three forums for 2022 General Assembly candidates in the Nov 8, 2022 general election. The forums are tentatively scheduled as follows:

• Tuesday, October 11, 7pm, State Representative Districts 25, 26, and 27, at the Newark Senior Center.
• Tuesday October 18, 7pm, Senate Districts 8 and 9, at the First Presbyterian Church of Newark Memorial Hall (the building behind the sanctuary).
• SD 8 - filed candidates are  Victor John Setting II (R) and David P. Sokola (D)
• SD 9 - filed candidates are  Brenda Mennella (R) and Jack Walsh (D)
• Tuesday October 25, 7pm, Senate Districts 4 and 7, at the Hockessin Library.

All qualified candidates for those offices will be invited to participate. There must be at least two candidates for the same office present in order for either candidate to address the audience.

At each event, the audience will be given 4 x 6” cards on which to write questions. Following the candidates’ introductory remarks, there will be a Q&A period during which the moderator will read questions from the audience. Each candidate will have an opportunity to respond to each question.

The forums are open to the public. There will be an informal “Meet and Greet” with candidates following the program.
