The League of Women Voters of Lee County invites League members and the public to Climate Change, led by our speaker, Diz Swift, Co-Chair LWV National Climate Interest Group on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.  You can participate either by attending In-Person at the Collaboratory, 2031 Jackson Street, Fort Myers or via a Zoom link which will be provided to registrants.

Diz Swift, Co-Chair LWV National Climate Interest Group

Diz has been working to educate and advocate for action on Climate Change for more than two decades.  She is Co-Chair for the League of Women Voters National Climate Interest Group and the Director for Natural Resources for LWV California.  Diz has a Ph.D. in Geology and has had a long career in the energy business.  She has served on several advisory boards and has lectured widely, including five years as guest lecturer on Climate Change & Economics at NYU.  Diz is active in her community, serving as Public Works Commissioner for the City of Berkeley, and is also active with her local League.

Diz’s presentation will provide an overview of Climate Change with an emphasis on specific issues affecting Florida.  She will speak to the need for climate legislation and the importance of taking action to stop Climate Change.
