Clean Water is essential to our Health and Economy in Lee County.  Yet serious threats exist in conditions such as toxic algae.  Our speakers will lead an informed discussion on the Issues, Solutions, and Actions that we can take to solve the issues.

Joseph Bonasia is a retired teacher and serves as Chair of Florida Rights of Nature Network (FRONN) and Operations and Communications Director of FloridaRightToCleanWater.org, the two organizations behind the campaign to amend our Florida Constitution with a fundamental "Right to Clean and Healthy Waters."

Codty Pierce, Calusa Waterkeeper is a life-long resident of the Caloosahatchee watershed.  Growing up among one of its many tributaries helped shape his passion, love and admiration for the area's history and biodiversity.  This complex ecosystem that has supported f yu lourishing civilizations longer than written record, has been a natural inspiration to him, while growing up in the community. Codty's early background in reptiles, wetland restoration, and native plant landscaping coupled with a career as a professional fishing guide has created a unique collage of in-the-field experience across local uplands, wetlands, estuaries, and nearshore Gulf waters.  To protect and restore the Caloosahatchee River from Lake Okeechobee to Coastal Waters is the mission and in Codty you will find the passion to unite and protect this special watershed.
