NewsOver a quarter of Contra Costa residents are immigrants who come from all over the world. A large new Immigration Court, which handles deportations, recently opened in Concord, nearly doubling the deportation capacity of the Bay Area. Local organizations are working together to support our immigrant neighbors as they go through the process.
A LWVDV vigil supporting immigrants appearing for their court hearings at the Concord Immigration Court was held on Tuesday, March 17th from 10:30-12:30.

We canceled last week’s vigil at the court due to inclement weather. We are going to meet Tuesday 4/28 from 12:30 - 1:30 to hold the vigil at the court. We will bring signs in English and Spanish and water for those who join us.

This is NOT a protest, it is a vigil where we stand with posters with supportive messages to those persons who have appointments at the court. Cars can be parked in the garage at the site or across the street at Park & Shop. We hope you will join us.
