Over a quarter of Contra Costa residents are immigrants who come from all over the world. A large new Immigration Court, which handles deportations, recently opened in Concord, nearly doubling the deportation capacity of the Bay Area. Local organizations are working together to support our immigrant neighbors as they go through the process.

A LWVDV vigil supporting immigrants appearing for their court hearings at the Concord Immigration Court will usually be held on the third Tuesday of each month.

NEXT VIGIL: Tuesday, June 16, 12:30-1:30 pm

This is not a protest, it is a vigil in support of those entering the court for their hearings. We will provide the signs to use for this vigil. Our signs are written to show support for the immigrants entering the building. If approached by anyone endeavoring to engage in a dispute about the immigrant situation, please do not engage.

Water will be provided. If it is warm, please use sunscreen and wear a hat.

The Immigration Court is located at 1855 Gateway Blvd, Concord CA.  Parking is available in the parking garage on the 5th floor or at Park and Shop on Willow Pass Road which is across the street from the Immigrant Court Building.

Please join us in standing in support of our immigrants who are undergoing challenging and difficult times! (For more information about supporting our immigrant neighbors, see LWVDV Immigration Support.)
