The Florida Primary election and Gainesville City election are upon us. Below are some important dates to keep in mind for both elections.
- July 20 is the deadline to register to vote or update your party affiliation
- August 6 at 5 p.m. is the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot*
- Early voting takes place from August 7 to August 15. Polls are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Registered Alachua County voters can vote at any early voting location. Check the Supervisor of Elections office website for a full list of polling locations.
- August 18 is Election Day! Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must vote at their designated precinct location. You can find your precinct location here.

On June 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Pugh Hall's Ocora on the University of Florida campus LWV of Alachua County will partner with the UF Bob Graham Center for Public Service to host candidate forums for each office appearing on the primary ballot. Candidates in all primary races for state and local offices will be invited. Watch for more information.
*Please be aware that ALL Vote by Mail applications expired in December 2022. Now everyone must re-enroll in Vote by Mail every two years. The new state Vote by Mail form went into effect April 17, 2024. You can still sign up for Vote by Mail online. You can check your Registration and Vote by Mail status here.
