Peter Miller is a native of Billings, Montana who went on to earn a PdD in Political Science. Dr. Miller offers engaging and entertaining presentations on aspects of elections, bringing political science to life.
Dr. Miller will present a 30 minute talk followed by questions and discussion on the electoral college, how it works, and how the national popular vote compact might alter presidential elections. The talk will incorporate some observations from the Finnish experience, as Dr. Miller just returned from a Fulbright year of study in Finland and will address the similarities and differences between the US and Finland along that dimension.
Peter Miller completed his doctorate in political science in 2013 at the University of California, Irvine. His research interests include American and comparative politics, voting behavior, political institutions, and public opinion. His work has been published in the Annual Review of Political Science, Electoral Studies, the Election Law Journal, American Politics Research, and the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion, and Parties. He is currently working on a book on elections and turnout in the United States. He was a Fulbright Scholar to Finland in 2016. He is a native of Billings, Montana.
