PROVIDENCE, RI – Ahead of the primary election on Sept. 8, the League of Women Voters of RI (LWVRI) has announced an online nonpartisan election resource called VOTE411.org. It’s a tool created by the national League of Women Voters (LWV) to help Rhode Islanders navigate the voting process.
In addition to voter resources such as how to register, R.I.’s online guide provides an avenue for candidates to reach R.I. voters with exclusive information about them. Members of the Rhode Island League developed questions that relate to our state and asked candidates to respond. A visit to www.VOTE411.org enables voters to compare and contrast answers as well as learn more about candidates who are running unopposed.
“In this time of COVID-19, it is so important that Rhode Island voters have a distinct and singular on-line space for election information,” said Jane Koster, President of LWVRI. “I encourage Rhode Islanders to visit www.VOTE411.org where they will find answers to questions by candidates regarding issues that are important to Rhode Islanders.”
Since 2006, VOTE411 has assisted millions of voters with vital information about elections. Many of those helped are young people and first-time voters. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
