League Leaders and Members:

We are in the midst of our Voter Services activities for this election season. Our members are busy with candidate forums, Pros and Cons presentations, and tabling events to register and educate voters. Our Civic Engagement team has developed a Civil Discourse statement for all of our activities, as part of our Making Democracy Work priority.

LWVDV received a grant from Contra Costa County for Voter Outreach to the Spanish-speaking community. We are working with LWV West Contra Costa County and community partners in the Latino community to distribute voter information in Spanish.  Kudos to the team that worked to create the synergy that made this happen!

As League members, we can continue to educate friends and family. Encourage people, especially new voters, to have a voting plan.

And be mindful that it may take a while for the results on Election Day. The Registrar has a lot of work to do before certifying the results. Local elections are often decided by a small number of votes. Every vote matters!
