Take Action on Gun Safety: Ask Your Legislators to Co-Sponsor HB 6667

Thanks to all of you who participated in urging members of the Judiciary Committee to vote in favor of HB6667: AN ACT ADDRESSING GUN VIOLENCE. As a result of your efforts, the proposed legislation received a Joint Favorable Report by the Committee.  We now need your help to move this important legislation to a vote before the House and Senate.   

 Action:

Write to your legislative representatives today by email to ask them to co-sponsor HB 6667. Lots of co-sponsors will indicate that the citizens of Connecticut want to see this bill come to the floor for a vote. See the template to adapt as desired (below).

About HB6667:

The bill provides for a number of measures that will increase our safety and the safety of our loved ones. The bill:
  • Prohibits the open carrying of firearms
  • Prohibits possession of a firearm in a bar
  • Prohibits defined assault weapons
  • Prohibits ghost guns
  • Prohibits bulk purchases of weapons
  • Requires safe storage of firearms at home
  • Raises the age of gun ownership to 21
