What you need to know about the August 13 Primary Elections

  • There are 7 days of Early Voting, from August 5 to 11. Regular Early Voting hours are 10 am to 6 pm. August 6 and 8 have extended hours from 8 am to 8 pm. On August 13, polls will be open from 8 am to 8 pm. See the VOTE 411 Early Voting flyer FAQ below for more information.
  • Early Voting locations are different from your August 13 polling locationFind your Early Voting location HERE. Use the voter registration lookup tool to find your regular polling location HERE.
  • Connecticut is a closed primary state, meaning you must be affiliated with a party to participate in that party's primary elections. Check your voter registration HERE to see if you are affiliated with a party. If you are unaffiliated, you still have time to register with a party before the deadline below.
  • Not all towns and parties will have a primary on August 13. Only the two major parties hold primary elections on August 13.. Review sample ballots HERE to see who the candidates are for each major party and whether or not your party has a primary election in your town.

  • Register ONLINE: Wednesday, August 7, 2024
  • BY MAIL (POSTMARKED): Wednesday, August 7, 2024
  • IN PERSON: Monday, August 12, 2024
